where is the best place to try to locate gizzard shad this time of year in a resevoir?
i live on lake norman we always look in coves with running water coming into them start shallow and use your fish finder bob
Lately I have been catching mine in very shallow water in coves. Kind of hard on nets tho.
I guess you just have to keep throwing and hope you get lucky
If you are real shallow, its a hit or miss deal. If you are deeper watch your fish finder.
Been catching them in about 3 1/2 feet of water-give or take a foot-in coves.
I catchem shallow before daylight but during the day I have to go deep find them with the sonar and use a big cast net 8 footer or larger with heavier weights per foot and sometimes add some rope to get down 30 foot or more.works for me .
