hey desperado,i have been bowfishing for about 10 years. havent been this year the river is not really low enough yet. we shoot lots of buffalo and gar. have shot a few carp and what catfish we see is gone faster than you saw them. the biggest buffalo we shot was about 15 pounds and the gar are up to 6 or7 feet long.missed a gar one day that was between 14 and 15 feet long. he floated up right beside the boat. i think i was more scared of what would happen if it connected. keep on controlling the population. you cant fish around here for all the gar and your nets are always full of buffalo.

Those are some nice recurves. I use a PSE Coyote at 50# and a PSE Kingfisher 50# recurve for back up. I use the retriever and the spincast reels, depending on where and what I bowfishing. I started out with the hand wrap reels and just upgraded.

Is my attached pic of the engraved plate on my trophy enough proof??

I really won 1st place. But, there were some underhanded dealings going on at the Archery Shop that sponsored the contest. It ended up being a relative of the owner of the shop who took first place. But, there was never a picture taken of the fish that beat me out. They just said I was beaten by 2 oz or so. I had stayed in 1st place for the entire contest with every fish that I had brought in, until the day before the contest ended. And, every fish that had been entered had been photographed (except the one that supposedly beat me out. Very convient would'nt you say). Tell me this don't smell "fishy".

There is more to the story than this. But, I am not going to get into it.

Anyway, if this suffices for your rep points fine. If not, that's fine too.

Man I tried it with a buddy one night and I sucked so bad at it but then again that was the first time I ever shot a bow. I think it would be fun with alot of pratice.
