Besure to disconnect the wires to the alarm inside the tank so that won't worry you to death.

my tank has no wires. just a line out to the pump.(small black thing with 2 lines out. I also read where you should pull the pump and shaft and replace it with a kit. what do you think?

I been told( by a boat repair guy) I will need to replace the oil pump with a kit from merc. I've also been told to (from a different repair guy) just to plug it and undo any alarms wires.. what do you think?

Thanks Mr. Bubbakat! I was told that I would need to pull out the gear and bushing. Did you ever get a chance to look up how to trouble shoot why my 89 40hp,merc. is only firing on 2 cylinders.
    thanks again
