I would like to hear peoples comments on their most favorite reels they have or have had. I'm sure this has been talked about many times before here but..........lets go over this stuff again. Whats you favorite reel and why?

Bait cast reel: Any ABU, really doesn't need explaining. I also like the Penn reels like the #9, 209 and any squidder

Spinning reels: Daiwa 5050BR Sealine, and the shakespeare ultrlight reels

Along with those I enjoy the Zebco33, 808, 202 and 303 for bream and crappie

I relly don't have a favorite reel.I guess If they're mechanically sound and the rod doesn't fail me then I'm ready for business.I will say that the Zebco 202 is what I was started on when I was a little girl,so it's the one I have lots of memories with.-----------pk powell:big_smile:

Freshwater Baitcast - Penn Reels like, Senators, 309's, Squidders, 320gt. And Abu Garcia reels like Ambassadeur 6000, 6500, 7000, and 9000.

Freshwater Spinning - Shimano BaitRunner, and Penn's.

Saltwater - Big Penn reels mostly, and Abu's sometimes, that goes for Baitcasting and Spinning.

Shimano STRADIC Hands down is the best reel I have ever used/bought! A little pricey but well worth it.

Thanks for the replies! I use Okuma Induron 400, Shimano Baitrunner 4500b, Shimona Catala 401 and a number of Penn and daiwa spinning reels. I don't have any Abu's but if I get one some day it will be the 7001 HS. I just got the Shimano Baitrunner 4500b and used it for the first time yesterday, I have to say it is a very solid reel! The only drawback is the clicker is not very loud but everything else with the design of it is great! I also have a Penn 309 that I don't use, it is right hand and I need left hand retrieve, it is also a little much as the cats up here rarely break 15 pounds.

I love to fish with Spinning Reels, so for all of my Cattin it's the "Shimano Baitrunner 6500" or the "Shakespeare Tidewater", both Reels have Baitfeeder (Feerliner) System And that gives me a Spinning Reel with a clicker.
    &
For all of my Ba$$, Bluegill & Crappie fishing, I like the "Shimano 4000 spinning Reel".

    Take it easy,

I use a Ambassadeur 6000 and a Shakespeare Tidewater Freeliner for catfishing.

I use a Abu Garica Cardinal Spinning Reel for bass fishing.

I also use a South Bend Spinning for panfishing.
