Reel recommendations

    I'm looking to save for a rod and reel , I've already chosen the rod.

    Can you recommend me a good abu reel ?

    For all around cattin I recommend Abu Garcia 6500 C4, can't go wrong with that.

    Im with Larry, I like the 6500 C-3 in the abu's, ive got several, but take a look at the Shamano Tekota 500, in my opinion a much better reel for a little more money...:wink: Go to sporting good store and get them in you hands and find the one you like the best...

    What about all those special abu's like the blue yonder , catfish pro rocket and green cat , how are they ?

    it seems you are set on a abu but ill let you in on a little secret not many people know about,okuma reelsare just as good if not better than abu and alot cheaper.before you purchase a reel sneak a peek at a okuma you will be surprisd

    i have a okuma halogen 250 and some chrome 250's they are awesome.i use tyem before i use my abu garcias,i have messed around with the 400 but dont own one,i will probably get one sometime when i decide to get another rod
