Wow! Ain't that something. Mom can be proud anyhow. Would have been neat to have been weighed and then released.

    What a great article.

That boy deserves a lot of admiration and respect, something that can't be said for many of today's youth.

His name may not be in the record books yet but I suspect it will be one day. Even if not, he has the pictures and memory for the rest of his life. Thankfully they had a camera with them!

Thanks for sharing the article Jim. :smile2:

Oh, boy! That would have been heartbreaking to me. I would love to have claim to a fish or game record. He can still say that he caught a bass that could have been the record(and prove it with the pic.) and I am sure that mom is still proud. Thanks for sharing, Jim !! I really enjoy your posts!!

You know how many times I have said "one more cast" and came up empty? Good for him! Record or no record he did well.

Would have been nice if the fish had been weighed, But if it ment it would die before being returned to the water then I really admire this youngster for his concerns over the wellfare of the fish. A state record for him would have been nice, but that is actually an ego thing and clearly he didn't care about that.

I admire him for it. The record doesn't really matter and it'll give someone else a chance to catch that monster when it's even bigger.
He's a got a great story and a picture to back it up.
