I posted recent about cleaning solvents for bores. Thought I should favour post a really good lubricant I've been using for a couple a years now. It's inexpensive and has multiple applications (reloading tools, fishing reel bearings etc.) Used it on friends firearms that have acted up etc. I always use a small amount on the slide rails of my 45's. It actually will keep stainless steel from galling. A little goes a long way. This stuff has really helped on high end firearms with tight tolerances...anyway its PRO-GOLD lubricant, Pro-shot Products. Your local dealer should carry it. One dealer here won't sell you a slide pistol without first stripping it down an slicking a little on the slide for ya first. How I found out about it. I have no affiliation, just like an use the heck out of it. On my reels too.
