It was too nice today not to go fishing,so I went. All my working life on nice days like this I had to work and then on weekend a cold front would come through.I retired last year and now I go when I want and I love it.I went back out to my favorite pond and caught a small crappie which I cut up for bait. Now I'm bound and determined to catch some big catfish out of there but not yet.I had cut bait on one rod and turkey liver on the other. The cut bait took off and I let him have a little line then engaged the reel and set the hook.He went airborne,it was about a six lb bass.A few minutes later another run and a bass about three lbs.Nothing on turkey livers.Of course today I didnt have my camera, which is unusual.I'm going to figure out what it takes to catch a catfish out of this pond, thats my mission this year. The rivers been in it 3 or 4 times in last 2 years so there should be big ones there.:smile2:

A big bass is better that a poke in the eye with a sharp stick...:eek:oooh:
Think I will have to go try to catch a fish tomorrow.

Same pond still no catfish but this pond is loaded with nice bass. These two are about 18 inches as measured by my foot which is exactly 12 inches. The one I caught the other day was almost twice as big.
