Judy and I hit the Rediversion Wednesday around midday for a day and night trip. We set up downstream from the Lake to try a spot we have had luck at in the past. The day bite for us was nonexistent, they are moving alot of water right now through the rediversion. Once night came we moved upstream closer to the lake, with in a short time one of the rods loaded up and we landed a 14.5lb blue. A short time later Judy landed another Blue identical to the first, 14.5lbs exactly. I was able to net some more fresh bait and set a live Herring out. The rod got that familiar slow bite then a stead pull, as I tightened down on the fish I knew is was a nice one, he fought me tooth and nail but this time I prevailed. Finally got him to the bank and after a few intense seconds of getting the net around him(which I had to assist by shoving him in with my hand), we hauled the monster up on the bank. He bottomed out our 30lb grip scale, so I dug out the back-up and weighed him at 55lbs!! This fish was by far bigger than anything I have ever caught.
