I have tried everything....and my face still
gets super irritated. Shaving in the shower
helps a great deal and I shave with the
grain and then finish off by going against the
grain. I have tried just about every type of
balm out there and they all work equally
    bad.:eek:oooh:

    What works for you guys?

Try the schick intuition for women. Believe it or not they work good in the shower.

Stop going against the grain. That is what is causing the razor burn.

Against the grain is the worst thing you can do for razor burn. LMAO

I got that new Gilette Fusion Power. Works great, shaves very smooth and easy.

Get an electric razor, never got razer burn from one of those.

Good luck, razor burn sucks to say the least.

I had to edge gel foam when i was younger. try rinsing the razor in cold water to flush whiskers out. also try a warm cloth to face before shavng
softens beard . Helps get a close shave in grain direction.
    good luck
ps it only took about 4yrs to tuffen up my face inthe army.:0a26:

A high quality razor makes all the difference in the world. I have whiskers like wire and really tender skin - a bad combination. Cheap razors just don't cut it (pun intended). I use a Gillette Sensor, shave in the shower and use womens shaving gel. With that combo I can shave against the grain and get my face as smooth as a baby's butt.

I'm glad you're serious about the alcohol. When I was younger, they told me to use Ben Gay for jock itch.
