in the summer i catch walleye on rat-l-traps, when the fish are chasing ghost minnows. there's this boat ramp that has a pretty bright light at a lake i fish, and the ghost minnows congregate right there. at the edge of the light, the walleyes will stack up and eat as many as they can catch. the smallest trap they make is the one i use, in a shad pattern or chrome and black or chrome and blue. this has worked for me in the summer, but in the winter i only catch sand bass like this.
