Rare Flathead Catfish on Allatoona Lake.

    I had out 4 down rods with 3 to 5 inch gizzards, 1 flat line, and I was messing around with a spoon catching smaller fish around the boat.
    The Flatty hit the dang jigging spoon!

    Were on Alatoona did you get him? You may offset the common name of the dead sea with that one.

    The water temp was a chilly 48 degrees. I was fishing the big Flat across from the mouth of Kellogg Creek.

    Nice flathead!

    The cats were also active today on hartwell, caught one cat on a flat line!

    Congrats on that rare allatoona flat, hope to find a rare lanier flathead soon!

    nice catch there, gives me a little hope living on the lake. do you catfish allatoona often?

    I fish for what ever bites my line on that lake. It's hard enough to catch
    fish on Allatoona. I pull down lines and free lines most of the time for
    anything. If I was to target them(catfish) it would be from Knox bridge and North from there up the Etowah. It would be difficult now unless you had a jet drive. The lake is too shallow in spots up lake now for a prop.
