I've only used the ramp at columbia bottoms a couple times, does anyone know at what river level it becomes unusable? None of the ramps up this way are usable and won't be for 7 to 10 days. I'd kinda' like to get out next weekend and was considering CB as a alternative to the ramps here.

Tom if you want to add the Foley ramp, to high would be 434 and 429 would be to low for most boats. It was right around 429 when you were up here the last time.

you can always launch under hwy 79 bridge and run down...

Garrett, That launch is a little spooky, It would be just my luck for someone to pop up over that hill and nail me as I'm trying to launch...already said that would be the launch of last resort , but I guess that depends on how bad I want to go fishing....lmao.

I went and looked at the launch levels sticky thread and it said you can launch from columbia bottoms at 30 ft and it's 29 now and gonna be on the way down so I guess it's useable.
That's what I saw too Patrick, might just give it a try next weekend.

You can alway call the Columbia Bottoms Office during normal business hours and ask em if they have it open. Sometimes when the water get up to the top of the ramp there have been problems and they shut it down. The office number is (314) 877-6014

Let me know and i might meet you there.
Patrick,my plan is to go either Sunday or Monday with a guy from work. We'll probably motor down to the confluence and try below Mevlin Price first, if that isn't working we may go down to the chain of rocks and try that.....are you willing to cross the chain?

With the river being as high as it is, a person would hardly even know the chain is there! When the St Louis gage is down around 15'-17' then you know it's there!!

ON the other hand, it's like a wing dike. When the waters low, you can see them, when the waters high, there still there, but where? Then,,,,you find them in a way you aint gonna like.

Andy52, if this rain doesn't stop you'll be able to launch your boat from the 3-way stop in Winfield. Calling for a 32' crest right now. I think that is as high as its been this year.?.?

Mo river is tearing the hell out of everything in NW MO and Nebraska...
