I rearranged my college dorm type freezer just now. It houses the OKRA, Roma tomatoes and Figs. First photo is a box containing approx. three gallons of whole Fig.
    DSCN0547.JPG

Next one is Roma Tomatoes, plus we have thirty pints in gars. Close to four gallons. They be smashed up.

Mac even I can't eat 40 pints a pickled okra?
Since you probably figured I haven't been crappie fishing for a few weeks, Tuna had left me alone, thank GOD, LOL I wouldn't answer him anyway when I'm in pursuit of bigger fish to fry. Don't like anybody to know what when where when why in that case. LOL

Yes I done ate it with radishes some time ago. I don't know if this is a very early indian summer or what is going on, had some nice cool mornings and got stuff done, but then it gets hot. They say 90's n 80's for sometime yet? I'm waiting for the water to cool down so I can put the hammer on them catfish. Only fish you see on radar in the river are in logs and not moving, kinda on a pout? Good things come to those who wait. LOL

The four legged gurls beat me to the sack this past evening DSCN0550.JPG
and two of them is exactly where I slumber. Got a few growls when I laid down.

Meanwhile, back on the dead end road along the shores of Lake Norman, things are on the wet side and there are limbs and leaves in the yards and some along the paved road. It was dry enough for me to harvest some OKRA yesterday and Izzy, the smallest four legged gurl followed me around waiting for me to drop a pod and when I did, she was on it like stink on FUBIE.

Yesterday I mentioned that the weather guessers were forecasting calm to lite wind on Norman, well as usual, they missed it by a mile. I was busting mini white caps when I traveled back to my dock. Then I got to thinking about their forecast and figured according to what Irma offered up, they might have been right. Here is today's forecast fer what it is worth >>> https://weather.com/weather/today/l/28037:4:US. Lite SW wind this AM

Here is a helpful garden/fruit hint. If you will pick your Figs when they split a tad at the end/bottom or show milk, but still firm, pick them any way and put them in a basket with a few ripen Figs and in less than 24 hours the will be soft/ripe and ready to eat. This technique helps you beat the birds to the fruit.

Ain't dat just like a king or dictator to name the state bird after themselves, IJS.

    Later Gators
