The remnants of Irma left 'Denver of the East' a tad before eleven bells yesterday and the sun came out, for dat, we are thankful that we did not receive any major damage. This morning the wind will be fairly calm and here is the rest of our weather >>> https://weather.com/weather/today/l/28037:4:US
Monday and Tuesday I got calls from two different groups wanting to go catting, told both of them I would go out this AM and see how the bite was and dat I would call them back this PM and let them know what I found. I don't jump at all offers to fish anymore, unless I check out the scene.
Harvested Figs twice yesterday and froze one quart of them and have enough for two more quarts in the harvest bucket waiting on them to ripen up a tad more. Also rescued a cute little yellow and black bird from the netting covering the Fig bushes
Held it fer a spell until it got over the shock of the ordeal and then it flew away

Forecast says it's going to be warmer than yesterday. Posed to get up to 96 with a low of 67 tonight. Up until this morning we have had lows in the 50s and it's been nice. Mother Nature's teasing of early cool fronts is always welcomed this time of year.
I'm predicting that we will have an early winter, and probably a bit stronger than we have seen in several years. Why you ask? Well, I've studied the leaves and swirled some sand around while listening to the wind... I've also got some Ocean Front Property for sale.
In reality though, my wife has a Bougainvillea planted at the end of the road. It freezes off and comes back each year. f or those that know plants a Bougainvillea likes to be root bound to fully bloom. Hers is not and it has only a few blooms each year. For however many years it has been planted there, it has never bloomed until late October or just before the first frost. This year it started blooming at the first of September. Makes me think it knows something is different this year and it had better get its blooming done early...
Looks like another weekend of "the list" on my plate. Oh joy.

Oh! Oh! Is it in Arizona? From the front porch can I see the sea?

Tom, you have my sympathies. I was subjected to the same on two different nights in the past few days, just to end up back home and looking on amazon.
I'm pretty sure the activities of both said evenings are in violation of the Geneva Convention.
PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT OF ZALMEXIT.
After much consideration, thinking, polling, and prescribed medication - The 142 acres a couple miles upriver from downtown Zalma (formerly known as "The Farm") will now become a sovereign Micro Nation of [I haven't decided what to name it yet] and no longer a part of the State of Missouri, Midwest, central time zone, calendar, seasons, or any other controlling interest.
There are many things that haven't been decided yet, IE the name of the new country, what to call myself as the head person (King is too tacky), and how to spend the foreign aid my country will surely get.
I will build a wall (actually a barbed wire fence) which I will eventually pay for, and all the fence posts will be painted the official color PURPLE.
More info later as it's time for my medication.

Vortex, when shopping on amazon or google there is usually, almost always, a better price somewhere else. Now say you go to ebay for some small item. The seller wants as much for shipping as the price of the item.
Do I look stupid?
publisher's clearing house sweepstakes has uped the ante for the oct 13th drawing...instead of 1k$/day for life it'sa million up front too...had to run to the post office and get more postage stamps...SCATS...

Why, Keith! You know that isn't true! Some of us saintly merchants offer free shipping! Yes, totally free! (** Weasel clause: the aforementioned shipping is figured into the price but by all means it is FREE**)
Tried to enter the lodge this morning and got the message that it was being fumigated. Guess Mutt's fleas got out of control again.
My shot appointment was a go this morning. One in each arm.
Supper tonight will be venison backstrap cooked in the crock pot, mashed taters, peas, and cornbread dressing. Y'all are welcome as always. Swirlygig is in charge of dessert. Or you can desert the table.
Time to get back to work.

Deb now you know I know what the MSRP is going in.
Jim couldn't pass up a good deal on ebay, ROTF
Keef, sometimes there are better prices, just gotta look a bit. Free 2-day shipping is alright by me, as is their return policy.
I avoid ebay like the plague, no offense to our resident hooker intended.
A little sumthing for Keef
Looks like a black. Yum yum.
