My nephew that cut his fingers is doing well. His spirits are high considering the situation. He's making jokes about nubbing people by poking them with cut off digits. Even though his are sewed back on. His dad passed out doing physical therapy with him at home. His dad had to hold his hand as Easton bent his fingers over his dad's but his dad just could not stomach that and they had to pick him up off the floor lol.... Oh well it's a learning and growing curve for the whole family too get use to.

Sunny but cool today.
Went to town to get fuel in the truck, picked up some cardboard to pattern and sight in my turkey gun while there.
New American flag arrived today, glad to have one flying again.
Wife took her pup to the Vet for his third round of puppy shots, he is moving kinda slow.
Mooseman, glad to hear the nephew is adjusting, had a neighbor boy my age get his hand caught in a manure spreader our freshman year losing two fingers and badly mangling his hand, he went on to lead a normal life after H.S.
So ready for sunny and 70 but the weatherperson doesn't offer much hope for awhile.

TY Mac.

At least your nephew seems to be accepting it well.

What they showed on tv for you delima out there feen is some is melting. They showed shovelers in tshirts shoveling. If it had stayed at zero you would really be buried.

They say for the parade on Saturday it to be a temp of 19. Winds of about 30 mph. Wonder if the green beer will provide enough antifreeze.

Oh Keith, that seat is raised about 6 inches over bucket. Abit easier to stand up from.

You folks may not kick. Ma would like to kick me fishing for a few days. Been getting yelled at for useing an ice rod and string to tease the cats. They hook string with claws or teeth and we have tug a war. At least there is a cat on end of line. LOL

Bill funny you mention this tonight as I brought in 6 rods from my shed to wash and change line if necessary. While I had the cut off the the terminal tackle and was unscrewing the reel from the rod there was line dangling and the cats are jumping grabbing it. Then my son was helping take line off 2 reels and the cats are in the middle of it and my kidd was throwing it every where and burying the cats in it while the rolled in it and loved it

Bing showed a recipe for Corned Beef Cabbage the other day and I thought it was perfect for this kind of weather. Prep time was over thirty minutes and cooking time turned out to be five and a half hours in a crock pot set on high. Two pounds of corned beef cut in small chunks, eating size. Four taters cut in squares, two stalks of celery, one large yellow onion, two hand fulls of baby size carrots, three cups of beef broth, spices etc, half a head of cabbage and I should have used the whole head, IJS. Only one side and that was corny corn bread. Main course was served it in a very large soup bowl and I had a saucer for the cornbread and slated butter. Yum, Yum, burp.

Gobs of UFO news on the NET, here lately and here is one from my feed this AM >>>Multiple Mysterious UFOs Captured On Video Over California Puzzle Witnesses (msn.com) You know the story has to be true, coming from the Left Coast.

More bad news for the Left Coast and the Northeast >>> Soggy California drenched anew as Nor'easter buries New England, New York (msn.com) Most likely it will affect Feen's area. Just off the press >>>Why rain on snow in the California mountains worries scientists (msn.com)

Current temp this AM is 29 degrees, high of 59 and an overnight low of 32. At eight bells it will be 28 degrees.

Firstly, this is not a political post so please, no Biden/Dems this or Trump/GOP that; we all know greed and avarice are equal opportunity traits and are alive and well on both side of the aisle.

Although there is obviously a direct correlation between supply, demand and prices, for months now I have been of the belief that many have been jumping on the price hike bandwagon and raising their prices simply because people are expecting to pay more. The more we expect higher prices, the more they will put them up. I'm all for businesses to make money; that's the idea of them but this gouging is really getting old.

Now, this morning, I see a piece on TV and hey, gouging has a nice, shiny new name:
Ladies and gentlemen, meet "Dynamic Pricing"!

While the airlines have been doing this for years, it seems that is has now become the way for anyone to rip people off if they are so inclined by charging more for anything based on day of week, time of day, popularity of item etc. etc.

The real tragedy is that a lot of people will allow themselves to be ripped off by paying up. This crap will only continue unless people straighten up and say "No, I'll do without". Some things we have to buy but many things, we don't.
I, whenever possible, have never played this game. I've always been a tight wad, preferring to do/fix/grow/make things myself rather than pay over the odds for something. Looks like I'm going to have to step it up a gear!
Rant over:)

Justin, sounds like he's adjusting well.
A cousin and I went to work at a cardboard container company the same week. First job was take a section of precut cardboard from a stack on a pallet and set it on the machine to be cut where needed, fold impressions made, printed, folded and seem glued. The stack I was working on was for 5 gallon containers of cooking oil. His was small, a case of soap bars. The machine caught his middle finger of his right hand and pulled it out of his hand. The machine messed it up bad enough that it couldn't be saved. Hand was stitched up with no space for that missing finger. When he was released to return to work, he was released for getting hurt on the job, I left too.
Got the paperwork filled out and in the mail, hope it doesn't take long now.
Got very few things at Kroger, paid $43, saved $18. Doesn't count the half priced items from the clearance section, paid $43, saved $29.
Got an email from MDWFP, got the numbers for my kayak. Wonder if I'll get a plastic card mailed to me soon.
Brought the miter saw inside to work on. It has 2 bolts that hold the arm to the base. I can see a bit of fresh paint at one side. They are allen heads, I try both standard and metric sets I have, none fit. Called Matt to barrow the set he got for his tractor. Yep, 5.8 mm. Got the blade back to zero, but see more fresh paint at the other bolt base. Will try a cut soon to see if more adjusting is needed.

Not being political, I think prices went out of sight when the government printed all the trillions of dollars with nothing to back it up. The dollar is worth much less now than before.

My wife and I decided to grab a sandwich while we were out yesterday. I won't mention the name of the place but they are known for their roast beef sandwiches which I like. We ordered just the sandwiches without fries and drinks. We ordered one small fries and one coke, almost $24, they stopped the old cuss discount.

Nope, I told them to cancel the order. They said, may I ask why, I said you are too darn high.

Mac that corned beef and cabbage sure sounds good. I think we will have some cabbage for supper tonight.

I am keeping up with a family who are building their house with the help of some friends on youtube. They have framed the entire walls with just a few braces, no permanent corner bracing just 2x braces here and there. This weekend they put the trusses on the house, still, no good bracing installed.

All that weight on that house and no permanent corner bracing. I have advised them two or three times about that, but so far no bracing. They are expecting a storm tomorrow in that area. They have really lucked out so far. I just hope that house doesn't sit down on them. It is a total mess trying to salvage a blown down house. I have seen several sit down because of improper bracing. I know it isn't my problem and they are trying so hard to get their house built but they just will not listen. It is actually stressing me out for them. Such is life.
