Looks like we might FINALLY get some rain for the next 5 days with a "significant" amount predicted for Friday...
man, I hope hope it floods out alittle bit and brings the flatties back.

We had a pretty good rain Monday night and I
went fishing at Eagle Creek Tuesday morning
and I caught one small flathead after another.
They averaged only 6-7 inches and were hitting on chicken liver like it was candy. I probably
caught 30 of them before I gave up. I couldn't
catch one of eating size for nothing.

I'm pretty sure they were flats. No yellow on their bellies,Pure white. Non forking tails.
tiny eyes. Short dorsal fin. Are there any other identifying factors to consider? What do you think now?

if you were catchin them quick on livers i would say they were bullheads...next time check if they have and overbite.....flatheads will always have an underbite

yellow bellies have a rounded tail and small eyes. i still think yellow bellies catching 30 baby flats one after another on chicken liver sound almost unlikely

After doing an online identification search I
believe I was catching brown bullheads. They
are often rather dark in color and have a
creamy white belly according to the pics and
discriptions I found. Thanks for the heads up
    guys. You live and learn!
