depends if you're talking about hybrids or regular stripers. for hybrids i use an abu 5000 with 30 pound power pro and a 20 pound big game shock leader on a quantum tournament grade 7' rod. bait for them is chicken liver or shad, lures would be a curl tail grub in white or blue pearl.

for stripers i use my cat rods, which would be a 7' ugly cat rod, an abu 6000 with 50 pound power pro and a big game 20 pound shock leader. might be kind of overkill, but i don't lose any this way! lures for stripers would be pencil poppers, saltwater rat l traps, or paddle tail plastics. i prefer to use live or cut shad though.

i have caught hybrids to 15 pounds, and stripers to 21 pounds, awesome fighting fish.

I use the same tackle for stripers that I use for catfish.

Ive never really tried using cut shad for them before but last night i was catfishing and caught a good sized hybred on a shad head. I was surprized, but happy.
