ok guys im heading down to dale hollow for memorial weekend, and plan on doing some serious cattin..

just had a few questions i hoped to get answered beffore i got there..

    (1) Are cast nets legal to use for catching bait? (bluegill and shad)
    (2) Do the shad run pretty heavy in coves? (indiana they do)
    (3) If castnests are legal, what are the size restrictions? (diameter)
    (4) How many poles are legal from a pontoon for catfishing?
( I read one place unlimited poles, another place i read 3 per person in a boat, another place i read 3 pole limit was just for trout fishing)

Thanks in advance! and if anyone else wants to come fish, ill be camping at wolf river marina, and fishing from a rented pontoon. PM me ill give you my cell number

whats the water level look like this year? ive been to dale hollow for the last 7 years, and i know its been high the last few due to dam work on lake cumberland. did they get that done and get the water back to normal? and hows the rain afftected the water level..

What are the water temps like in this area?

im sure ill come up with a few more questions before friday:smile2:

ah found it... page 38 in the fishing guide..

CAST NETS must be no more than 10 feet in radius with a mesh size no smaller than one quarter of an inch, and no larger than one inch on the square

also found the info on pole limits for dale hollow lake.. bottom of page 24

ALL SPECIES: 3 pole limit per angler from boat and 6 pole limit per angler from bank may be used

I would still like to get info from the locals on water temp, water level, and how hard are the shad to find without electronics.. also like to know of any tips/tricks to help find the bigguns in there...

Easiest way to catch shad or skipjacks are to hit up a dam, powerplant, or any other place that is high in oxygen/fast currents. At Cumberland City Power plant we can fill a 5 gallon bucket in just a few throws. Any early morning skipjack are pretty easy to catch.
