My son caught a couple of good sized channels yesterday and when I was cleaning them the 2 biggest were still full of eggs:confused2: How or why would they still have eggs this late in the year?

some of the ones ive caught and cleaned lately had them, most big females usually over 5lbs will carry eggs until late fall or early winter. just like most fish, people eat caviar,(fish eggs) that fish keeps eggs year round there just unfertilized
