Just a quick question, looking for some feedback about a boat motor. I'm looking at a Pontoon boat that has a 1998 60HP Evinrude 2 stroke motor. Does anybody have any opinions or knowledge about this motor? Is it a solid motor, or have any of you had or know of problems with this motor? A guy has this motor on a 20 foot Sweetwater 1998 Pontoon, wired for 110, with fishfinder/depth, he's asking $7000. I just wanted some expert advice from you all. I don't want to buy a boat and have problems that I had with my first boat. Thanks any input would be greatly appreciated!

Evinrude motors are purdy solid... Most OMC stuff was and is very dependable.... Johnson/Evinrude motors are really good in my opinion.. Have used Johnsons mostly... All motors have issues and etc...

Do yourself a favor have the motor checked out before you buy it.You should check fire and compresion, check the lower unit for leaks and gear damage.
