Just my opinion and from my experience I would have a hard time hooking a carp with a 4/0 circle hook unless it was a good sized carp. I have had better luck with smaller circles for the smaller mouth of a carp but gave up on the circles for carp and back to the good ole lipripper J hooks for the carp. Abu

I'm with John on this one. It would have to be one "MUTHA" of a carp to handle a 4/0 circle. Ya would think that the way carp bite that circles would be a sure thing. LOL! Give a #6 or #4 treble a shot. Cover it up real good with the corn meal and ya should be off to the races.

I use #6 Gomakatsu Octopus circles for carp and do pretty well. I can pack 4 or 5 kernals of corn on that sized hook and the carp has no problem getting it into his small mouth. The fish set the hook themselves when they swim off with the bait. I caught an In-Fisherman Master Angler carp with this method earlier this summer.
