If you had a 22 to 26 pontoon boat would you feel cofortable on the red river with say 6 to 8 people(average adults) on board and if so how big a engine would you need?

CHRIS I HAVE FISHED THE RED AROUND NEW BOSTON ON A 22FTER A FRIEND OF MINE OWNS IT FUN TO ROD AND REEL OUT OF IT. FAR AS SAFETY GOES I WOULD NOT BE IN THE LEAST WORRIED ABOUT IT. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS SOMETIMES YOU MAY BE LIMITED BECAUSE OF LOW WATER AND SANDBARS YOU GET THAT THING HUNG UP ON A SHALLOW BAR IT PROBABLY TAKE ALL EIGHT OF YOU TO GET IT OFF. I WOULD RECOMMEND A 40 OR 50 HP. WONT BLOW YOUR HAT OFF BUT A NICE SPEED. PLUS BIGGER MOTORS WILL ADD WEIGHT AND YOU DONT NEED THAT
