Here are some pics of the transducers mounted on my 258 DLV. As you can see in the photos, the trailer bunk kicks up the transducer so make sure you don't make that mistake.
The position that they are mounted is probably the best area for them. It reads good at high speeds and the motor does not interfere with it.
The pics aren't the best. The transducers are level even though pics make it look like they are not.
Hope this helps.

That's where i have mine mounted and it works fine. Mike I shortened the bunk on mine a few inches so I wouldn't have that problem.

Mike, I have a new 218DLv. Do you have some pictures or suggestions on how you have mounted your rod holders and set up your skiff. I have bow and stern rails mounted (grandkids) and have put on seven attwood stainless steel rod holders (clamp-on rails) around the skiff. I think something mounted across the back onto the stern would work. Thanks,Kenny!

Heres the set up for the back rack. I installed two flush mount stainless steel rod holders. I bought some aluminum pipe that fit perfect in the rod holder. The rod holder is a 30 degree so I had a shop cut the pipe end at 30 degrees then had them weld on a 1x3 aluminum tube on top in order to mount the monsters.
I rack is removable (with some force) but holds steady when running at 40 on rough water with rods stowed in them.
I have to watch when letting my motor up so not to hit the rack. I did install some rubber on the back side of it so not to scratch the motor up if I did take it too far up.
I do plan on installing some LED strips on the back of the rack to see my rods better at night.
It works great. I hope this helps out.
