I just bought 2 Penn 220 gto reels and when I put the line on them it would wrap more line on the spool on the right side than the left of the spool. I took the line off 3-4 times and put it back on tight and made sure the line was tied on that little rough section on the spool in the middle when I started. The right side would get full capacity sooner than the left. The level wind bar would go back and forth normal, but as the right side gets full, theres still some room on the left. Does anyone know why it did this? Thx. PS. I had the line run through the rod guides when putting it on the reel.

I have experienced that problem on new reels being lined up for the first time prior to adjusting the cast control knob. Now that you have line on them try making this adjustment and see if it corrects the problem. Tightening the tension on your cast control forces the spool to side some. :0a26:
