Question about... Message attachment alert.

    I may have missed it but did someone get a virus from opening an attachment here on BOC?

    I've never scanned any attachments on BOC but guess it would be possible for someone to upload a virus and not know it. Especially if they are uploading a "Forward".

    AVG scans all my files daily and everything I receive in mail is scanned.

    I am unaware of any instance were a virus has successfully transferred using a jpg file, although it's technically possible.

    I think it's more a reminder to be careful in general about what you download and where you download it from, and will hopefully increase awareness of the danger of seeminly innocent files.
