:confused2:My 1971 Evinrude 60hp doesn't have any power when trying to drive boat onto trailer. If on a little incline ,you try to give it gas to help push boat onto trailer it dies.Hit key starts right up.whats the deal.Someone told me that that motor has a shut off if it gets into a certain incline.Any truth to that.Other than that it runs great. What do I have to do to correct the problem if at all possible?

It might have a tilt protector on it. I will have to check on this to see if it was installed on omc. I know mercury had them on some of their motors,
Next time you go to load it try to hit the choke at the same time you accerlate to power load it and see if that helps.
If all else fails get some nylon glides at bass pro to install on the bunks. Makes for easy loading. One word of caution though don't unhook the boat until ready to go in the water because it makes for quick unloading to.
