i have been researching and cant find any answers. A couple of my pumpkin plants are paper flat where the stalk goes into the ground. I just noticed it today, we have had nasty down pours and wind lately but i dont know if thats the cause. The plants look normal but just a little bit smaller than the rest. Does anybody know the cause?

well my garden exploded in the last two months, i am picking 5-7 cucumbers a day. I have 2 baseball sized watermelons and 4 gold rush pumpkins with more on the way. This is my first year growing Gold Rush Pumpkins and i have to say it was love at first sight:love: . Definately dont have worry about the stems breaking off on these like the jack o lanterns

I've had crook neck and goldbar squash do that before. In my research on the problem, I found that by making a bigger mound and planting the squash deeper, it didn't do it anymore. I seed mine out and then transplant. Good luck to you.

i will try that next year, now the only thing im running into is trying to get the pumpkins to fruit more often. So far my Big Max and Dill Giants are O-fer and the Gold Rush are known for heavy yields but only 2 plants of 10 have fruits.

Maybe to much nitrogen.? Had some maters that I put to much miracle-gro on one year that did that. They were the most bluish-green vines I'd ever had and not the first mater showed up. Plenty of pretty leafs and vine but no maters.
