Last night while fishing at my local lake , I caught a 5 pound and 6 1/2 pound channel cats on poles, and around 35 muskies. Hold on before all you Muskie fishermen go crazy, all the muskie were in the 10" to 12" range . As I appoached the boat ramp where I use my cast net for shad , I saw in the dark what appeared to be the mother load . I thought it was a school of shad in the dark it was hard to tell, turned out to be all musky. A real heavy load for my 4' cast net, all were released unharmed. Must have been at least 100 of them in 3' of water. Only thing I can figure the state must have just stocked them earlier that day .You know they always say musky is a fish of a 1000 casts , I proved that one wrong.Of over 40 years of fishing I have never caught a musky till now.

Yes it was, had I known they were not shad I would have never threw the cast net . In the dark around 10:00 pm it's kinda hard to tell, alway nothing but shad here.
