Last Saturday I used a chicken liver chum (blood, garlic salt and water, froze a rock inside so it would sink) and fished the floodwater at Lake Monroe. Spent the next 5 hours pulling snapping turtles (9) off of my poles. :smile2:Did'nt catch a single catfish.

It was a busy night, don't think I will chum again.

BTW I am new to this site and really appreciate the info I get here.

    Welcome to the B.O.C.
You might have caught those turtles even if you did not chum .
What was you using for bait ?

I used chicken liver and some old chicken breast strips. Both were turtle favorites. I think the heard of turtles kept the catfish away.

I am one to try anything new to improve my odds. I am not one to break any DNR laws. Thanks for the heads up!
