I am asking yall to say a prayer for Madison for us. She has been in the doctors office about every other week just fighting ear infections. She may have to get tubes in her ear.

We have to go see an Ear, Throat, and Neck specialist sometime in the comeing weeks to see if we need to go that route.

I dont know much about tubes as it really does not run in either of our families. I have heard bad stories from long ago but like everything I am sure time and medical advances have helped this.

Any info on your experience with tubes in the ear would be great and prayers are always apprecaited.

    Thanks

Don't sweat it big man! My youngest had them put in earlier this year. It was like night and day, the difference in Harley's attitude and overall well being. He got his at 11 months and within a week of having the tubes put in his ears he started to walk and started to talk more. It is nerve racking, but the whole procedure lasts 30 minutes or so. Also I had the misconception that these "tubes" were rather large, they are actually no bigger than the tip of a pen. I think that SudDawgs little girl had them too. We will be here for ya bro!

    Prayers are sent from Missouri.

I don't know how many people in my family have had or still have tubes in their ears, almost all of my nieces and nephews have them, it sounds bad but it is good in the long run.

Prayers from down here Tea for your babygirl. She will do great. (Probably beter than you during the proceedure.) I was a weck when my boy had them but it was THE BEST thing for him. HIs ear infections would lead to high fevers and that lead to his "fever seizures". He still has epilepsy, But all is well now.

Tea sorry to hear about Madison and we will add you to our prayer list. Like as stated before while any operation on a child, especially your child, is nerve racking the procedure is not that invasive. Please keep us updated on any progress.

Thanks alot everyone, really appreciate it.

She seems to hear fine and does not really complain. Just keeps getting these dang ear infections. Hopefully it is something that we can fix without surgery.

I forgot to mention that they have also placed her on breathing treatments 3 times a day for her congestion. She has a little fish mask that she brought home today from the doctors.

Little thing is a bundle of joy, just has to get over these little health issues.

Hi Tea - I don't get on the prayer section a lot but when I saw your daughter's name it caught my attention real fast! I send my best wishes and a prayer for little Madison! Man that is tough when they have health problems. My 4 daughters are all getting older now but man it still bothers me real bad when one of them has a health issue. Best of luck to your daughter! Hang in there my brother!

    Matt,

I hate to hear this about Madison. I had them as a child and it causes my ears to hurt now to think about it. They didn't have tubes when I was small, to my knowledge. Seemed like I got a shot in the rear every week....penicillin....penicillin.....OUCH.

One of my nephew's had them and it helped him but he is allergy ridden and has asthma too.

I started having trouble again with them when I flew in a plane or had a flu shot. Dizziness, hurting, etc. A lady at work told me about her grandson who had went to allergy doctors for years, until one day he went to the right one. He told them a simple solution of half alcohol/half white vinegar in each ear at night would fix him right up. Sure enough it worked! He does it religiously and has never had another problem with his ears. When she told me I tried it and it worked for me! The first time it took 2-3 days to work all the way, but now I only use it should I feel the need to. I wouldn't try this with a hole in an eardrum or tubes without asking a Dr. that knows both sides.

Will send out prayers for Madison and y'all. Let me know if you try the above and if it helps.

    God bless.
    Cheryl

Prayers have been sent from FL. On the bright side of things Tea, I can say that my cousin had them when he was younger, for the exact same reasons as Madison.

In a very short while it reduced the infections to the point that his body could now build it's own immunity. The tubes were removed in a short period of time:smile2:

Wishing Madison a speedy recovery & your entire family a Joyous holiday Season

Keeping Madison and y'all in prayers here, Teas.

Two of my daughters needed ear tubes .. in fact, with one, they fell out too quickly and she needed to have new ones put in. Makes a world of difference and it's so much better than having them on antibiotics all the time.

So yup... they're teeny little things, they will fall out on their own in time, then Madison can have them for a souvenir if she wants :smile2: One of my girls kept hers taped onto a tongue depressor decorated with stickers ~ lol.

The only care you have to take is to not allow any water into the ears with the tubes. They make some good earplugs, like a waxy substance that conforms to the shape of the ear canal. And if Madison likes to be in the water, there's a stretchy band that she can wear over her ears, too. Just don't let her go underwater.

    Blessings to that little sweetie!
