    Hi guys
I could use a little help if any one know's about power trim units. I have a 2003 mariner 40 hp, the trim unit won't hold it kreeps down. I have not noticed any fluid leaking. Iam not sure as how to add fluid .I only see one plug on unit, and a tag say's motor must be fully trimed before removing plug. Also what kind of oil .I purchased it used so I don't have any of the manuals

    Thanks

You can buy power trim fluid, or just use dextron III tranny fluid.

The fluid is bypassing check valves internally.

If you want to check your fluid, trim it up and lock it in place, then remove that plug. Fill it until it won't hold any more.
