I noticed that the price has gone up a little on Power Pro over the past year or so. I remember Spider Wire was actually the more expensive line at one time.

The best line made PERIOD!!! I have it on every cat rod I own. I have tried almost every braid I have ever heard of and none compares to powerpro.

I have it on ALL my reels too. I'm huntin' a 500 yard roll of 100# phantom red right now. I too have nioticed the 20% or so price increase in recent months.

I hate paying the price for all the braids, but at least by buying it in bulk(1500 tds),I get screwed out of a little less money in the long run.

I agree with you, but I don't think the price will come down. I buy the 300 yrd spools of #65 red and can fill two 6500's with it. I have tried other braids and Power Pro is worth the money to me, just wish it was a little less money.

I bought alot off ebay a few years ago.
Got ahold of one dealer that sold me 3000 yd spools
of 8 to 200# at a great deal.

I use it as the main line on all my reels, then a lighter
    line as a leader.

I take everyone is putting 150-200yards on their reels with regular mono as backing? What knot do you use the splice the mono and the Power Pro?

I have found that ebay is typically the cheapest place to find the power pro. I purchased 1500 yards of 80lb Hi-Vis yellow for 109.99 with free shipping. I put 300 yards on my Abu Garcia 7000i's.

I have never used mono backing, I use a piece of electrical tape on the spool and have never had a problem.

Power Pro will slip on the spool without backing. Mono works great and the fore mentioned electrical tape should do just fine.
