I would like to know if a 150 yard spool of #65 Power Pro will fill an Abu 6500 series reel with no mono backing. Thanks.

alton, that will easily fill your reel, but you should use a little backing on it you can use some tape it works fine

I just filled 2 6500's with a 300 yard spool of 65. The last one was a little short. I had to take it off via the help of an empty reel and put a little mono backing. if I was you. I'd put a little mono on first to make sure its filled. Here's a trick I use to know just how much to use. If you have another empty reel of the same size, Fill up the reel first with the power pro and then tie a bimini or a blood knot to mono and finish filling the spool. When it's full, transfer it from one reel to the other. This way you dont have an extra 20 yards of braid that could have been on the spool.
