Went out of Pohick Bay Regional Park Saturday night (last minute thing). Took about an hour and a half to catch enough shad. No wind, no one else on the water - beautiful night. I did a lot of riding just to get to know the river a little since I have only fished from there to Mattawoman Creek before. This time I went upriver almost to the Wilson Bridge. Caught several in the 10 - 17 pound range before I went back down to a spot I stopped at before. After I put my last rod out and turned around to turn off the light, one rod started to scream. After a couple minutes I finally got him in the boat and weighed him - 28.6 pounds. Not a giant, true, but I was by myself, trying to video and net the fish in the dark! And I had a good time on the water - my first time out in 6 weeks!

I've never fished the Potomac, need to get there sometime. Love tryin out new places. 28lbs is a heck of a good fight, especially with no one to help out with this-n-that. sounds like a good time to me!!

I met you out there! I was leaving and you were just dropping the boat in. We should link up soon!

Post a reply and let me know the next time you're in the area. I live close to here and am looking for a fishing buddy.

    Have a great day!

Josh I live in Alexandria near Landmark mall! I'm looking for a Potomac River fishing partner too. Was that you Saturday night at the ramp? Send me a PM. Maybe if someone calls and can share gas cost, my girlfriend will let me go more! NO lol on that one!

571-263-0849, and leave a message. I usually don't carry my cell phone, because of work, which doesn't let us carry one.

Or 703-806-8409, my work. If I'm not there, leave a message.

Nice fish man. That's a better video than I've ever made catfishing.
