Posting, emailing, chatting, etc. in all capital letters is considered yelling, shouting, and just plain rude. This is true throughout the internet.

Many people find reading all capital letters more difficult to read and will not read or reply to posts, emails, etc. that are typed in all capital letters.

Posting the titles of a new thread in all capital letters on the BOC by members means staff must make the time to change the title to one that is not all capital letters.

If you just can't make yourself hit the "Shift" key to use a capital letter only when needed while typing then its better to just type in all lower case letters, especially if you would like for more people to read and respond to your posts.

    Have a great day everyone!

    Posting / Chatting Guidlines:

There are common courtesies to follow when posting or in the BOC chat. Following them will put you, in other memebrs' eyes, as being cordial, polite, and a nice person. Some of those courtesies are as follows:

    A. Don't type all in CAPS. That's considered shouting.

    B. Be kind to newcomers. These people usually are not sure of what to do and will be a bit unsure of what to say. Be friendly and welcome them into the BOC.

    C. Be respectful of other posters and try not to express your own views or opinions too strenuously. You are as responsible for making the others' visit as pleasant as they are yours. It often pays to listen more than post.

    D. Don't be bossy or monopolize the threads or chat rooms. Don't try to pressure the other members to stick to a particular topic or dictate what the others can do or say.

    E. Large bold type should be used for an occasion emphasis on a word, not for an entire message.

The above information take directly from the B.O.C. rules and guidelines!!!

    Mornin' Ms Barb:

Haven't visited with you in awhile. Guess lately we haven't had reason to cross paths. That is, I am keeping my mouth shut. LOL I know which side my bread is buttered on. Although that is a strange statement, which side of the bread is the best side? Guess it depends on whose Bull you are goring or whose Bull is goring you.

Etiquette is an expectation of social behavior. You are, I believe, talking about etiquette. Something not much taught anymore and less and less used in "polite" society. Rules, rules ,rules ,rules much like you enforce everyday to maintain what you have here.

Calmness, serenity, peacefulness, like snowflakes falling quietly into a stream, NOT NOISE, DISRUPTION, CLAMOR, SCREAMING, ATTENTION GETTING!

It is much better to have calmness, serenity, peacefulness, ahhhhh that is so much better. Etiquette personified, something kids or immature people don't practice anymore.

    Thanks Barb. John.

First off. "HELLO BARB" Somebody must have gotten a trouble ticket or a post report. WAH! WAH! WAH! LOL! I often leave the "G" off of verbs. Such as walkin, fishin etc. Is this an offense as well? My finger nails are clean and my posture is perfect while at the computer. I truely hope this counts for somethin.:cool2:

Nobody expects perfect english and structured sentences all the time. Not all of us are great at this stuff, we all know that. Caps though are very hard to read for some of us. Bout the only time I use them is if I'm talking to Kutter. Seems he doesn't notice unless you do. Speaking of attention getters!

Postbeetle? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! You gotta change that avatar, even if it does withstand the rule test! Trans what? LOL

Mac, 15 minutes is not long enough unless you are a porn star. I will take the avatar down in (24) hours unless "The Man who Whistles'or "The Woman with Dogs" hauls me into court.

Boundaries are made by simple men, the man who pushes them should get a cookie. (or cookies)
