So, 30 lb "Kite" Dacron is $12.50 for 1000'
And 30 lb "IGFA" Dacron is $89.00 for 2500'

    C'mon- Seriously.
    Is Dacron really that specialized?
    Does anyone know for sure?

I don't know anything about it, but it is an interesting question. Perhaps fishing dacron is thinner or better quality or something.

I think I'm going to end up having to call a couple of companies that make it to find out for sure.
The only differences I could think there might be are an addition of a couple slightly elastic strands to help bear fast momentary loads, overall diameter consistency to help with casts, and maybe the smoothness of the line to help protect guides. Other than that I no idea why two brands of Dacron would have such dramatic price differences.

1500 yards of 100# Power Pro is $120. MY choice is clear!:big_smile:
