Well I went out tonight and landed this monster cat...well for me... and had a cheap spring scale. Get this...It measured in a 42 inches but when I weighed it the scale tipped to 16 lbs... yea right. Anyways I figured I'd post a pic...any rough guestimates??:confused2: By the way it was caught and released and caught on cut up shad.

Who measured the fish for ya ? IMO, instead of it being 42" it look backwards and is really 24", LOL.

Pics are hard to tell by but here is a pic of a 40# flathead and he measured 44" long. Your fish looks no-where near mine ; ) so I cant swallow that he is 42" long.

Its a nice fish and congrats but I'm just telling you my honest thoughts according to what the pic looks like. If it is 42" long, and maybe it is, its a 30# class fish...no doubt.

The fish is as big and heavy as you want it to be. It provided you with a ton of excitement and a mile of memories. Thanks for the release. Now someone else will get to experience it also.

Way to go on the fish man. Especially like the fact that you let him go. Nicely done!

I cant tell from the pics,But 42" is a lot longer than that fish seems to be,Look at the one on my profile page, its a blue, never measured him,but iy was 17.5 lbs. I gues it was close to 30". Any way Thats a nice flathead. Congrats on your catch.

I would say 20 if I had to guess. Weigh something on your spring scale like a 10 pound weight and see if its accurate or not
