Golly, I wouldn't know what to do with something like that on my line... That's what I envy about you southern boys, you don't just have catfish, you have Catfish... Thanks for posting...

Let us know more about it. I don't think the states do enough publicity about new record catches.

Very cool! Can't wait to hear all the details! In addition, the guy that had the flathead record before that was under investigation from the Wayne County Tourn, I guess that's all water under the bridge now? This fish is 16 lbs larger! Way to go, Carl! Get some shots up

Man that just isn't going to fly. Alabama's record is only 80 lbs. I just have more reason to go out hunting flatheads tonight...I'll see you Georgia boys squirm when I catch the 84 pounder.

I talked with his father-in-law, who is an officer, today and he stated that the fish was legally caught. I also talked with him a couple of days ago down on the river and he stated that his son-in-law had been fishing awful hard. I am extremely glad that we do not have to worry about the other fish anymore. For some of you that might have came down for the catfish tournament the river level was at 7 feet then, it is now about 3 feet. Good luck all and good fishing.
