Possible N.C. record out of the Cape Fear river

    hey guys has anybody herd of a possible record catfish out of the cape last week.. a friend of mine that works in fayteville said he herd a catfish had been weighed on certified scales and was going to be a n.c. record.. he said he herd it was over 100 lbs.. so i asume it is a blue if that is the case.. ears wide open..

    Brian Newberger caught the state record flathead catfish there last year, but it was only 78 pounds. I have not heard of another record fish, and nothing appears on the wire about it.

    I fish the Cape Fear and know a lot of locals. Have not heard anything.
