Poorman's Livewell

    For several years I have used a plastic chicken coop as a floating livewell. It is more durable than the homemade ones but the only drawback is the bulk in the boat and having to take it out of the water to move. Anyone interested can find details at:

    I popped the rivets outta one of my boat seats and removed the foam . siliconed it , hinged it , ran an air supply . works great

    it might not be much better, but we use the normal size coleman cooler. it seems to keep the water at the same temp of the pond or river we got it from and u can keep it right in the boat so baitin up is easy. i use a "bubble box" to keep it aerated. cooler plus bubble box is prolly 25 bucks and i have kept bluegill alive for over 48 hours before. good luck and hope this helps
