My dog started doing that last summer. She would lay on the floor and constantly chew her paws. I took her to the vet and he said it was some kind of allergies that make their feet itch. He gave me some pills and she hasn't chewed on them since. She is a lab/bullmastiff mix. The pills fixed her right up. I don't know what they were though.

Ditto that, the diagnosis was fungus or allergies. The pills were Ketoconazole, and within a few days our dog went from chewing on her feet constantly to being back to normal.

Ditto again, diagnosis was allergies, doc give me some medicine(I assume it was the same medicine Gary mentioned, don't recall for sure) and she was fine in a few days.
