What pound-thrust trolling motor is needed to stabilize/push an 18' pontoon? My pontoon weighs less than many bass boats I'm sure but it catches a good deal more wind. Thanks.

I did a good bit of reading and checking around before we bought ours and it was highly recommended that we go with "bow" mount, in toon case front deck mount. We bought the Minn Kota Bow Mount 12 Volt with foot control for pontoon boats and we LOVE it. It does an awesome job even in wind.

I was told that for my 28 footer I need a 101 lb thrust or better.

I would go with as big as you can get. It will be over kill till the wind starts blowing.
