I use J hooks . Havent tried anything else yet . I like snatching the pole to set the hook when I get a bite . It seems to work for me . Maybe some day I will try something different .

For years its always been Eagle claw bronze #084. in 6/0-8/0. But i've been triing here latly the Gamakatsu Octopus J-hook in 6/0-8/0.

I never had much success with Kahles, and even worse luck with circle hook for flatheads.

I've always used 8/0 Octopus hooks but have been considering Kahles and Circles

I know this is a discussion on hooks for Flatheads, but I usually target Channels. Anyhow, I like using 2/0 Gamakatsu Circles and Mustad Wide Gap in sizes ranging from 1/0 to 4/0. Gotta remember not to set the hook when using circle hooks, just start reeling them in.
