Whats your "go to" hook for Flatheads?
I did'nt get the Poll part up quick enough. Whats up with that????
Kahles, matched to the bait size.
Kahles', Matched to bait size..
Was that an echo??
#7-9 Gamakatsu Octopus:big_smile:
I use khale and gamatsu octopus, they both work great.Dont like circles for flats much.
I use J hooks . Havent tried anything else yet . I like snatching the pole to set the hook when I get a bite . It seems to work for me . Maybe some day I will try something different .
For years its always been Eagle claw bronze #084. in 6/0-8/0. But i've been triing here latly the Gamakatsu Octopus J-hook in 6/0-8/0.
I never had much success with Kahles, and even worse luck with circle hook for flatheads.
I've always used 8/0 Octopus hooks but have been considering Kahles and Circles
I know this is a discussion on hooks for Flatheads, but I usually target Channels. Anyhow, I like using 2/0 Gamakatsu Circles and Mustad Wide Gap in sizes ranging from 1/0 to 4/0. Gotta remember not to set the hook when using circle hooks, just start reeling them in.
9/0 Eagle Claw King Kahles:crazy:
That's right. LOL
8/0 and 9/0 King Kahles for me too.
Eagle Claw Kahles, 7/o - 10/o. Cheap and effective.:cool2::smile2:
6/0 # 84 eagle claws, like to set the hook also
6/0 to 10/0 octupus King Kahle and circle. depending on bait and bait size.
its the great octopus circle in 8/0!!!! or 5/0 kahle try em both and decide 4 yourself, its whatever u have confidence in is the best hook.happy fishing
I use 5/0 to 8/0. I prefer kahle, or straight.
Kahles, matched to the bait size. from 7/0 to 10/o size good allroung hooks and do the job well
