There should be more options. Yes I eat some catfish! I typically keep one "meal" of 2-4 pound fish to take home with me. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Never. I hate the taste of fish. Everything I catch gets thrown back.

Heck yes we eat what we harvest. If it's red meat at our house, Tonto has to kill it 1st.
Fish } It's a little different on a slow river day when the boat, a bottle of wine, and snackage are the priorities de jour, we may toss back what we catch. On those days we are recharging our souls, not stocking the freezer. Any other time it is going in the freezer.

I DON'T THINK THE SIZE OF THE CAT MATTERS WHEN IT COMES TO EATING. A PROPERLY CAUGHT, STORED AND CLEANED CAT MAKES A GOOD MEAL NO MATTER THE SIZE. THAT BEING SAID, PLEASE LET THE 'BIG' ONES GO BECAUSE THEY ARE SO FUN TO CATCH, AND UP IN THE NORTHERN STATES LIKE NORTH DAKOTA, TAKE A LONG TIME TO GET TO THAT SIZE.

Thanks for the post Jeremy. On ocassion I will keep some of the smaller cats. 2-5# for the table. I like keeping some white bass, crappie or smaller wipers. But I will not for instance keep a little 10 to 12" catfish. I will let them go. On the average 18-24" is the size I will keep for the table.

    Thanks..
    CPR.
