    any one there? just looking for some ideas from uniontown.... when is the best time of year to catch skip jack ..my family loves to catfish and skipjack is the next best thing to my 12 year old son

    welcome to the BOC my friend. from what i hear yer son is right, skipjack is great for all catfish in one way or another i hear tell. we dont have em in my area that i know of though so shad, gills, crapie, & bass it is for me. using fish that are native to the water yer fishin is probably yer best bet. there will be guys & gals from yer neck of the woods around fore too long to get ya hooked up.

    Jason, first let me welcome you to the BOC. Second, skips were plentiful in our area last year. Hopefully they will be aging this year. Now the water is too high to even think about catching skips. Best time of the year would be summer and early fall.
