Going to try a new place here in Milledgeville. I have gone to scope it out several times and every time I go, I see 3-10 gar hanging out. Now I am not opposed to catching and eating these ugly things, :crazy:but will they keep the kitties away. Will I be wasting my time? :angry:Thanks.

if the gar are by the bank and spawning try leeches on bottom underneath them the cats will eat the gar eggs or your leeches other bait might work but the gar will eat up the cut shad gills minnows etc.

Sounds like a good place to use some Danny Kings punch bait. Gar won't touch it and the cats love it. Catfish and gar will hang around in the same places.

Gars are a real pain. I have not had much luck when they are running your baits.Waisted alot of good bait on them.

I'm with Steven on this one. I haven't had much luck when the gars are fairly thick.
