Hey Loop, if you will be headed to the Smokies on I-24 you will be within 1 mile from our home here in Chattanooga. It sure would be good to meet you and your wife after all these years. Ya'll are welcome in our home anytime.

The best place to stay in the Smokies is on the Townsend side. It is really beautiful there and no where as much traffic. Dollywood (Pigeon Forge) and Gatlinburg are very crowded in the summertime. Townsend isn't that far from Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. By all means go through Cades Cove, it will be crowded but worth it. There is all kind of wildlife there but stay away from the bears.LOL You may want to stop by Lost Sea in Sweetwater, it is a huge lake under ground. Also Chattanooga has many things you may want to see like Ruby Falls, Rock City and the huge Tennessee Aquarium. One of our BOC members (EricM) caught one of the huge catfish that resides there out of the Tennessee River.

Jim is right. I can't enjoy pigio forge or gatlinburg because of the crowds. townsend is much better and you are within minutes drive of everything in the smokies. If you go to cherokee expect wall to wall people and so much smoke in the casino you can't breath.

As it looks right now we will be heading for Tulsa, Fort Smith, Little Rock, Memphis, Chattanooga then Townsend.
That seems to be the shortest of the ways to get there, hows the road 337 from Townsend towards Gatlinburg looks like it would be a scinice route.

Loop, we just now saw your post. It has been almost a week since we have been on here, as we have been out of pocket. I sure hope we haven't missed getting to meet you finally after all these years. Rats! I can't believe we may have missed you.

It was a beautiful trip sorry we didn't get to meet any of our BOC brothers/sisters. The Smokies were breath taking got to be a tourist and take in some of the other sites.Jim when we got to Chat I looked your number up and couldn't reach you after we got back it dawned on me I had tansposed the numbers in the area code my bad if it weren't for that we would of hooked up.I'm so sorry. The trip was great except for one mishap on our way back we were stoped in Nashville in a line of trafic and my wife had a siesure.had to pull over and get her out of the car on the miden just so happen that the reason for the line of traffic was a finder bender between a EMT unit and a car.The EMT came back to us and helped when another unit arrived they loaded her up and took her to the Hospital which was less than a mile away.Talk about your timming in a matter of 15 mins total she was at the Hospital. When all was said and done found out her Potassium was real low and thats what caused it.Looking back I can only say the Good Lord must have been looking out for her. We'll make the trip out that way again one of these days and when we do we will get phone numbers of bro/sis way ahead so we can make sure to meet with friends and family of the BOC.
