You were correct, that's why I put up my last post. 6500C3 is about $85 the 7000i are now $149. Both can be found cheaper but the no-frills 7000i does cost more... they also are lower geared,,,make sure that's what you want in a reel.
your mostly right I was refering to a 7000i and a 7000ic3 sorry for the mix up. I believe iv seen the 7000i at catfish conn for $90 witch would put them at about the same price as a 6500c3. The 7000c3 runs around $145 there I believe. Getting a 6500 and a 7000 wouldn't be a bad idea.

I have never seen the 7000i that price around here. That is the going price of the 7000ic3 here. If that is the case what did the 7000ic3 jump up to now?

here is the red reel 7000i at Abus site. They use to be $99 at Wal-Mart , then they jumped to $110 or $120..I'm not sure if they are still that price or not, I don't ay much attention to them.
Last I checked Catfish C. had the 7000i at around 90ish and the ic3 at 150 or so. I did not see a price change at Cabelas either but it has been a few weeks. you had me worried the prices were jumping big time.
Geesh ive learned more from posting this than i ever thought i would...I assumed it was made by abu...Guess its a complete custome this mikes reel repair does or something...Im not trying to advertise their site...this is just the only place i found it available off of google :confused2:. http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/product_info.php?cPath=89&products_id=75638
Great question...i never wouldve even thought to look about that if it wasnt for your question...
The blue yonder is abu's model 6500C3CT it's one of there INTERNATIONAL model's I think mike just changes a few thing's like adding a level wind as the blue yonder don't come with one. He must up grade alot more because Catfish Conn has the blue younder at 127.95:wink::smile2:
Someone suggested a 6500 and a 7000,
I'd say that's a good mix..
If you're wanting to run some heavier mono,, the 7000 will handle it in the capacity.
I run both, 6k and 7k reels, 30# mono on the 6500, and 50# on the 7000's
I usually grab a 7k, as I like the louder clickers, and the drags are a bit more powerful.
But, as has been posted,,,, a 6500 C3 is awfully hard to beat..
Here is my dilema...ive never had a 6500 but i did have a 7000 till recently and absolutely loved it. I am parting with a lot of my stuff and am going to buy two new or used abu garcia reels before next spring. I cant afford to buy all amazing stuff but was kinda thinking about buying a 6500 blue yonder....has anyone used these much? I havent heard anything on here about them before. I cant afford to buy the 7000 blue yonder but didnt know if i should buy a fancier 6500 or a plainer 7000 if that makes much sence to ya...thanks guys!
