[Pipe Rat]

Heres a rodholder I put together that you can build easily on the cheap with 4" plumbing pipe. I made templates out of slip repair couplings (no stop in the center) so they will slide over the pipe. Using templates you can crank out some for your buddies in a matter of minutes. You can also stuff your favorite rods inside and attach a handle or a sling a take a hike to your favorite fishing hole. Instructions are written in the pictures, I hope the attachments are large enough to read them. Here goes.

One more hint........... Aluminum rods bend too easy. I suggest steel or rebar.

They look good Doug, but I have a question, Were you having a creative moment or were you just bored?..lol. I could have picked you up this morning when I went down to Foley to check the ramp out. There was about 14 ins or so water covering the road, I was chasing Grass carp down the road with my truck.

Great looking design. You could even have some 1ft pipes coming out for holders, if you don't want to use it as a rod carrier. Just saying that because I use 12ft poles. Thanks for sharing and I will be making one, with tube holders though. thanks:wink:

Thanks for sharing. I just made four 3" pvc rod holders last weekend. They are all 30" with just an angled cut on one end to pound in the mud. They took me longer than yours, They are a biotch to carry and I only got four holders out of 12 feet of pipe!!!:shout:

I made a couple today. They're 40" instead of 5ft, with slots for three rods (I usually don't take more than three rods when bank fishing). They work very well. They're going to be the holders I use the most from now on.
